I’ll Say It Again: Happy Birthday to Me!

Well, I thought last year would be the last time I would celebrate my birthday, but my friends had other ideas and this is a shameless happy 30th birthday to me post. ;-)

I was never one for celebrating my birthday and then my 28th birthday hit and I had an awesome time. My 29th birthday pretty much sucked, so the guys took it upon themselves to make sure my 30th was rang in with style. I want to thank Greg for being the man on the ground and planning everything that he did. And I want to thank Jimmy, Chris, Markus, Nick, pmac, Sandy and Keith for all taking the time to fly in and give me one hell of a party weekend. Thanks also to Frank for making the local trip out and giving me stripper pooh.

My favorite part of the weekend, aside from our traditional dinner and club NY nights, was that we went bowling (my campy idea), totally sucked and had a blast anyway, along with lots of drinks. The live band at the Carnegie Club on the last night we were there also rocked. And I also got some awesome birthday gifts (even though a cabbie got my Sens hat).

My Canadian boys couldn’t get in due to circumstances, so I’m told I’m getting another bash on my next trip up to Canada in early June from them. I seriously have some of the best friends on the planet and I don’t think there’s much more a girl can ask for when turning 30. Except for also having some of the greatest kids, who according to the grandparents worked very hard on their cards to me this evening. Oh, and happy Memorial Day to those in the states.

Sugarrae runs on the Genesis Framework

Genesis Framework

If you’re someone who doesn’t understand a lot of PHP, Genesis will give a ton of functionality that you wouldn’t be able to obtain otherwise with a simple control panel instead of having to alter code. For the advanced, Genesis has incredible customization possibilities via Genesis hooks.

The theme is not only highly customizable, but it has allowed me to run Sugarrae more professionally, with a much more targeted focus on monetization than it ever has been able to achieve before.
