Hope for a better future for many who will suffer this personal and family tragedy, and hope for future actions, treatments and methods of recognizing and diagnosing why this happens - and to be able to hopefully prevent the worst outcomes in many present and future cases. In a nation deemed by many to be the greatest and still free-est on the earth, we sometimes are reminded that better health care, particularly for the very young and very old, still depends so much on people like you who, out of sheer desperation and pain become determined in the face of tragedy to reach out and demand that we all take notice and stand up together to help make a difference. Before I knew this I had told you that I thought you were blessed - for your brilliance - but now my belief that you are blessed goes doubly so for all the love and compassion you have shown your son, and others like him in the world, and for bringing them and their families together.
