Randomness and Two Burning Questions

by Rae Hoffman on January 25, 2007 | General Babble

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my feed or subscribe to me on Twitter, which is updated on a more frequent - and more meaningless - basis.

This will be my last post until next week as I am headed off to Canada for another random weekend of mayhem with my friends. Before I left, I had several random things to post and I find myself with two questions that maybe some of you will be brave enough to weigh in on, unlike my last question. (I’m sure calling my readers cowards is against some reader retention strategy somewhere, but we’ll see what happens).

— First, I’m taking directions from the social networking whore and shameless stuntie and mentioning that I have a mybloglog community and if you’re reading me on a regular basis, take the time to join it and add me as a contact.

— On a related note, there has been a mybloglog widget added to the bottom of the right sidebar. Thanks go to the widget whore (also known as the sponsorship whore, the meme whore and the outing people for taking naps during the day whore) and to my blog designer, Reese, who pimped it to the high heavens.

— Also added to the blog is a delicious plugin for wordpress created by web professor. I’m starting to think these things might be a bit of overkill to your design (granted, the Sugarrae design is detailed) - but we’ll give it a bit and see how I feel later.

— Chris Hooley decided to give “writing an article with a extremely unique perspective” a try (see the article and his thoughts on the corporate punk here) and saw pretty damn good success with it (over seven hundred diggs and a server crash). If you’re not reading Chris, I’d recommend giving him a shot. He’s one of the funnier people in this industry (and he means to be).

— One of the Sarasota boys made me laugh hard as hell with this.

— My daughter is doing Jump Rope for the Heart at her school and is raising money online to help reach her fundraising goal. The American Heart Association helps both heart issues and stroke and since my oldest son is a stroke survivor, we take this type of event seriously. If you feel so inclined, donations can be made here. And a huge thank you to everyone who already has donated. You guys rock.

And now for the two burning questions…

1. While on a call with Todd the other day, I made a mention about a bunny, in reference to Mr. Ploppy. He seemed utterly shocked and disturbed that I would associate his alter ego with a rabbit. He kidded that he felt Mr. Ploppy more reminded him of Mr. Hanky. Now, I don’t see that. When I hear Mr. Ploppy, I think soft, furry, cute little hare. So, I’m opening this up for opinions.

2. Where do you stand in the great toilet paper debate? I’m an under gal myself…

I know, only here at Sugarrae (that is Sugarrae, not Sugar Rae, SugarRae or SugaRae) are the real questions and issues tackled. ;-)

Over the top and neatly folded along the perforations. (Not crumpled) Why do I allow myself to get sucked into these things?

Mr. Ploppy eh? Well, way back when, I was taking Brett to task for deleting the Ploppy post, and it was definitely a reference to a turd, not a rabbit. The original post was deleted, sadly, because it was funny. Brett had no patience at the time for funny foo, this was shortly before or after the ‘no recipes’ proclamation.

Shortly after that, I saw Adwords for Mr. Ploppy that pointed to to the guilty party’s site, err, Todd’s site. Todd, you should’ve take a screenshot of that post. Jeezus that seems like forever ago.

As for toilet paper, always go over the top.

1. ploppy = hanky, but likely only because you immediately afterward started talking about TP, and with TP comes, well, hanky

2. under

1. It was about POOP. It does seem like forever ago… it was what 2 years plus now?

2. I always go over the top.

Five sheets, and only five sheets, folded on the perferations and always flowing over…

it’s that half-full or half-empty thing…
