I encountered something of a “gotcha” (at least for me) after I implemented the SEO Title Tag plugin (as per your suggestion). Thesis apparently “defers” to SEO Title Tag. So, if you’ve activated it, you must use the plugin title tags, not the Thesis equivalents.
