I just read your post and I am curious how I could create something similar within Thesis. For example adding a particular ad under author a posts and something different with author b posts. I have tried failed for several days now I just cant get it to work.

Just found your blog looking for some solutions for a project I'm in the midst of. Nearly all of these apply to what I need to do. A great resource, thanks.

Rae, I abosultely loved this post! I just bought and installed Thesis last night (I think it was because I saw a "drunken-twitter" from you about it):

http://twitter.com/sugarrae/statuses/919739172

Guess so. Anyhow...I LOVE it! I've been desperately looking for another theme, or really a starter theme to get going with. This is perfect for customizing stuff I don't know (but have always wanted to) and it just optimizes so well and looks damn sexy while doing it. Thanks for the info on this, I've downloaded the plugins and I'm going to be working on this all day probably.

I decided to use the Photo Dropper plugin on my Thesis Theme site and then spent the time to create some customize styles so the photos looked like the rest of Thesis. I posted this tip on the Thesis Forum, for anyone who is interested in seeing how to do this go here.

Woohoo! My suggestion made it as bullet in this post :-) Glad you found the PHP widget useful. I continue to be amazed at all of the useful plugins people put out there for free.

An alternative to using iStockPhoto is picking up one of the Flickr-based plugins like Photo Dropper or WP Decoratr. Both of these pull photos from Flickr based on keywords you provide or that are in your post. You don't get the same style as stuff as you do from iStockPhoto, but more often than not I find something useful. And if you restrict yourself to CC photos and provide attribution, no one minds you using the photos.
